Truffles have always been highly valued for their quality. And although experts of gastronomy can not agree whether the truffle is a spice or food , they all agree on the fact that it is a premium delicacy.
As such, it deserves a series of events organized in his honor, during which the visitors enjoy in a presentation of typical dishes with truffles. Also, for those who want to learn more about the king among mushrooms, this type of event is a great source of information and visitors can learn how to search for truffles, what types of truffles are there and in what culinary combinations they show their best qualities.
It was with that goal, on the 9th November 2013. that for the fourth time in Motovun a TETA- Teran and Truffle Festival, was held within the Days of truffles in Istria (which lasted from the 7th to 9th November 2013.). The program of this event started with a gastro-show where they were preparing dishes with truffles, and the gastro-show was accompanied by a cocktail-show whose purpose was to promote cocktails based on Teran and truffles.
The exhibition was attended by 15 producers of Teran and 4 truffle seekers and visitors had the opportunity to buy the products that were presented. In addition to the presentation of food and drinks based on Teran and truffles, as part of the event a special music program was held in Motovun, as well as a giveaway for visitors of the festival.
Winner of the Teran and truffle festival is a young winemaker Robi Bertoša from Kaldir (Wines Bertoša), while slightly fewer points than the winner were collected by Teran from Klaudijo Tomaz (Wines Tomaz) and Livio Benvenuti (Wines Benvenuti) .
